If you want to measure the noise level inside the room or place you're in for any particular reason – or just out of curiosity – there's LevelMeter. This sound meter for Android can calculate the approximate sound frequency around you at any given moment.
LevelMeter works like a simple meter should: once you open the interface, the app will start picking up the decibel levels, shown by a colored bar that represents the noise level. A blue tone indicates that the register is in an acceptable range, while a red one indicates the opposite. The louder the sound the app picks up, the higher the bar (and the decibel register) will go up.
Before you press the start button, you have to make sure you're close to a stable source of sound, since LevelMeter is not a professional sound capture tool. You should also calibrate its sensitivity to -5, -1, +1, or +5 decibels if you want a more accurate measure. LevelMeter also lets you provide a higher or lower frequency sampling of the time between the sending of acoustic signals. This lets you avoid over- or under-measuring the decibel level, which can happen when there is inconsistent sound in your location.
